Floss Club

***I have a video that shows how to floss.  Click here to watch it. ***

We now know that flossing is just as important as brushing. Flossing cleans plaque and food debris in between teeth where the toothbrush does not. We also know that we have to floss all of our teeth at least once a day, but many of us have plenty of reasons not to. We have come up with excuses such as:Floss

·        I lost my floss

·        My hands are too big

·        My gums bleed

·        My teeth are too tight

·        It hurts when I floss

·        I am uncoordinated

·        I get my teeth professionally cleaned 2x year

Dr. Dilger and his staff are very concerned about this issue.  We did not look at this situation as a negative but an opportunity to help you, the patient.  So we have come up with a solution.  It is called the “Floss Club.”  Every one of our patients has the opportunity to join the club.

We understand that the most difficult part of flossing is consistency. Flossing has to be a daily habit. The Floss Club motivates you to floss everyday. At your exam and cleaning visit you will be given a calendar and pen. Each day that you floss, you will mark that in the calendar. The motivator is the prizes that you will be able to receive. By just returning the calendar at your next visit, you will automatically receive an instant prize. Every seven days that you floss, you will get one raffle ticket which give you another way to win a prize. There is a monthly drawing and a grand prize.  We will also have a separate prize for our younger participants.

We are always trying to motivate people to take an active role in taking care of their teeth.  We think that this will be a fun way to remember to floss every day.  The prizes are great too, but the biggest reward is having healthy teeth and gums.

Dear Dr. Dilger:

It all started with my initial phone call to Dr. Dilger's office. I felt so comfortable from the start and after I came in for my first visit it's been all about what I want and what Dr. Dilger and his staff recommends for me. All around, it's been the best dental experience I've ever had.

Going to the dentist used to be a nightmare experience for me. That's all changed when I came to Dr. Dilger. Dr. Dilger's office staff are so warm and welcoming. Visiting them is like going home. Dr. Dilger's calm and caring manner erased all my dental anxiety and for the first time in my life I found myself relaxed in a dental chair. Dr. Dilger and his staff really took the time to get to know me and my concerns. They talked with me about my fears and helped me address my anxiety. Now I visit the dentist and I'm not afraid. I can not express the difference Dr. Dilger has made in my dental life! Thanks so much Dr. D.

I love my new smile.  It was so easy too.  Nearly pain free.  I am considering my lower teeth at a later date.
